One of my favorite stops whenever I visit, is the Batu Pahat Old Street Commercial Center.

It is a great place to chill out and recover from the drive over. The highlight of this place is the rooftop garden that has a great view of the hill opposite (Gunung Penggaram).

There’s a rooftop open to public on both blocks. One of them is comprises rides for the kids. If you don’t have children, you can skip this and head over via the sky bridge to the other block.

Cafè suggestions

Outside of the rooftop garden, I will spend time chilling in a cafè nearby.

My favorite is Zus, that is becoming more and more ubiquitous across Malaysia. And it has now become routine to order their Gula Melaka Latte. It has the bitter sweet Gula Melaka in addition to the caffeine booster that is perfect for the hot afternoon.

Noteworthy mentions include Coffee beans with a large footprint and less crowd and independent coffee shop Fika Cafe, all within walking distance of each other.

Or if you want to save money for discovering other eats in Batu Pahat, perhaps drinks at Family Mart where there’s a small section of seats also within the area.
